Emergency First Aid at Work London EFAW Course

This EFAW, Emergency First Aid at Work CourseĀ  is a 6 hour Training Course designed to train individuals in the administration of First Aid in the Workplace.

During the course you will watch video segments and study from a manual that will teach you the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergencies safely and with confidence. This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious or is bleeding prior to the arrival of the emergency services.


Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course Training Structure


  • Students must Understand the role of the first aider including reference to:
  • The importance of preventing cross infection, i.e Barrier Use.
  • The need for recording incidents and actions, Accident books etc.
  • The use of First Aid Equipment
  • Assess the Scene, and situation in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
  • Administer CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
  • Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
Duration :1 day
Certificate Expiry: 3 Years (HSE Recommend Yearly Refresher Training)

It is also recommended that the students carry our a First Aid Refresher Course every year to keep their First Aid Skills up to date.
